After picking up several at B&N I was really impressed with The Searcher the quality is very nice. I enjoyed it for the advertisements alone.
Western & Eastern might want to consider printing a higher quality version.

Hmmm..never heard of American Digger magazine, will have to try and find it.

With the internet today it seems like newspapers and magazines are almost becoming obsolete, but I still enjoy picking up a good ol' magazine. I find them easier to read then from a computer moniter on my aging eyes LOL.

Frankly, I get more out of T-Net than any magazines. "Treasure In the News" section is especially interesting, and I can get tips and advice here that far outweighs what I've read in mags. To each his own, but this is a very rich site we have and a great community to share news and info amongst. Cheers to our moderators, charter members, and all who contribute content! :occasion14:

With all the metal detecting sites on the internet I can get 1st hand information and sometimes misinformation but I usually learn something from everything I read. After awhile you learn to know the guys that really know detectors inside and out and can learn a lot from them. That's not to say you can't learn from others because there are many guys that hit on something on a particular model of a detector that helps everyone.

It seems I remember 4 different treasure mags from the 80's, had subscriptions to all:

Lost Treasure
Treasure Search
Treasure Found
W&E Treasures

Then there was "Bottles and Relics"

And of course today we have "Gold Prospectors" through membership with GPAA.

I'm sure there were others I've forgotten.

When I was a teenager back in the 1970's, I used to read Lost Treasure from cover to cover then start over again. Back in the pre-internet days, those mags were the only thing connecting a lot of us with the rest of the detecting world. I believed all the hokey stories about lost mines, gangster loot, buried army payrolls, and of course, mason jars full of gold coins hidden away by wealthy, eccentric old hermits. Then there were the real stories and pictures of some of the mind-blowing finds that coin and relic hunters were pulling out of virgin sites back then.........

Hopefully anyone who is interested has noticed that Western & Eastern Treasures offers a free digital subscription to members of T-Net. If you haven't noticed, the link is https://www.wetreasures.com/tn and it's a great way to get acquainted with this particular magazine. :icon_thumleft:
