I have used the nail aprons but that did not work holding my pinpointer or tools. I then got a tool belt and added a sleeve for my digger and I use the minelab pouch. It works alright but its a little heavy and bulky for me. I know we have some creative people here so I was wondering what you use.

Hey tx,

I use just a simple cotton nail apron diggin soil. ;)

My choice though is to be on the sand with a long handle scoop. ;)

I have 6 pocket BDU's (army pants/cargo pants). They also tie at the bottom and tuck into my boots to keep the nastie things out (and douse with Max Deet).

On top of that I usually have the nail apron.

I use a heavy leather nail/tool pouch.

http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,106394.0.html

I'd since added the other-half of the apron to my belt. It gives me a place to carry a bottle of Gatorade, and it seems like I dig alot of trash so I need lots of room for that.

You can always "spin" your pouch somewhat behind you, might help it feel alittle less bulky & keep it somewhat out of the way..

use a tool/treasure pouch for tools and finds. Hangs on belt.
Carry an zippered type luggage bag that's light weight but durable
with over-the-shoulder strap:
for water, deet, bandaids, (flannel shirt, hood, hat and gloves in colder weather), mag. loop etc.

I wear carpenter's pants. The digging tool hangs on the hammer loop, the pin pointer fits perfectly in the side pocket and the finds go in the back pocket.

I put all my Goodies in a small nylon pouch that I got from Walmart, and all the trash goes into another, (larger) nylon pouch... I have them clipped to an old carpenters belt I used to use...

You can see a pic of it on the page: Leon's Equipment, alone with all my other equipment...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

I found this one but its in Scotland and it is 30L that I think is around $60US. I really like the style and pockets. It comes in other colors but since I am a girl I like the pink one. Has any of you seen an apron like this one in the US?

I use a tesoro pouch and it works perfect! It is made of thick material, fits on the belt and has a very large open pocket for garbage and a nice zipper pocket for good finds. I used to use a military carry bag but it got worn out and I lost a couple coins from a hole that formed in the bottom.

i use old navy cargo shorts. 5 pockets in the front, 2 in the back, $12 or so on the clearance rack. garden shovel and pointer in one hand, MD'er in the other.

no "steal me, i'm full of loot" apron here. the way i see it is like this...

apron = that apron is full of loot, he's worth mugging
no apron = that guy didnt find squat

You must live in a high crime area, if you worry about that stuff.

I wear carpenter pants, and put coins in a skoal can in back pocket. Txkickergirl you could start a new trend with the can ring mark on your back pocket. HH Alan

That is too funny, I grew up with brothers that dipped and I loved the ring in the pocket so I would take the empty cans and wash them in my jean pocket, but I never got the same look as their jeans had.
