I upgraded to the AT max
Very similar to the Pro, but deeper...
No gold nuggets in my neighborhood, which I’m ok with.

BWD, how much deeper? Is the difference between the MAX and PRO that noticeable?

Yes.... for me quite noticeable.
My pounded spots gave up some deep coins the Pro couldn’t see.
Almost a foot deep, no kidding.
But the deeper the target, the choppier the VDI.... the numbers fluctuate quite a bit, but you know something is there.
Dig a plug, pinpointer silent.... dig deeper, and dang!.... walked over it dozens of times, and had no clue.

So my MO these days on a new permission is to cherrypick the low hanging fruit with the Pro, then have the Max finish the job.

Depends on the coil. The NEL Storm is super deep if you can swing it all day. It's deep. But after 3 to 4 hrs. It gets heavy if you're not finding much. The Deus and others are some lighter. Good luck to all.

A few years back I upgraded from an AT PRO to an Etrac. It did find me a few pieces of gold jewelry but it is not known for being hot on gold. The Etrac is extremely good at Silver and my silver finds improved dramatically over the AT PRO.
Don't know where you will be hunting for Gold Nuggets, but if you're hunting for gold jewelry in a park, you're going to dig a lot of Pulltabs, Foil, and/or Nickels first, regardless of which machine you decide on.

Equinox 800 is 8 machines all wrapped up in 1 neat lil package and is under 3 lbs.
Mine can barely see a 0.03gram gold nugget on the surface of my red soil. It hit the meter at a 1.

I also bought mine with similar intentions as I am a newb swinger. Lol

I too, upgraded from the Pro to the Max this year. If I had it to do over, I'd look REAL hard at those Equinoxes...it seems to be the really hot item, everybody raving about it and I've seen plenty of proof..(here). Good luck, Ddf.
