My final digs would be a plastic digger. I would be too afraid on dinging it. There are some private mint gold coins made in Colorado that go for 6 figures. I would cry if I scraped one...

I just buy the ones from Lowes that are fiberglass reinforced plastic. They weigh a few ounces and are almost always the final digger. Ten years ago they were .98 cents apiece, so I would buy a half dozen. I have never damaged a find with them.

You know I was just wondering the other day where there plastic hand lesches?

You can plasti dip or use rubber paint on your digger and probe. I use rubber paint on mine.
