The Equinox is about 25% lighter than the ATPro. Check out the Equinox Sub-Forum. There is plenty of good information to read up on.

I went to the 600 from a ML Safari which is about the same weight as the AT. My hunting partner uses AT Pro/Max and is why I am familiar with their weights. I developed tendonitis from swinging the heavy machine and I thought my MD days were over until I bought the 600. So much lighter and I can swing it for hours with no pain or discomfort. Additionally, it's a hell of a machine.

It has several turn-on-and-go programs along with the ability to adjust settings to match your hunting conditions and personal preferences. Learning any new machine just takes some time in the field.

If you know the AT Pro, using the Minelab Equinox will be a breeze. You can start with turn on, ground balance, and Go!

Just buy it. You won’t be sorry. Give it 100 hours and if you decide you don’t like it and want to sell it you won’t have a problem.

I went to a nox600 from a Fisher and the transition was pretty painless. I’m also disabled; fusions in my back and neck, ad shoulder and ankle....but the 600 doesn’t hurt me at all. Great machine.

I get what you're saying about hating to learn a new machine. I have a friend that buys mid-level machines uses them for a week and sells them. He doesn't read manuals. He works best with a detector with a few knobs to adjust.
There is stuff you have to learn to use the equinox. Nothing is labeled with text on the machine. It's all symbols. It took me a while to get it under my belt. New information doesn't flow that easily into my brain. I can't say it ever has. Always had to work hard at it to learn new things. So you will have to learn some symbols and button sequences. Not that hard and once learned its easy as pie to use. A great machine.
