If I had to choose between just those two, I guess the 705 would be my choice. Good machine, but the coils are kind of expensive for that model though.

Nokta is fairly heavy and has strange ergonomics. A fixed handle angle that some felt was angled too far fwd.The big display is on the side so changing settings on the go means stopping and turning the machine on its side. The early models had not so good toggle switches. Nice feature is the vibrating handle. I considered one back in 2014 or 2015.
The Xterra is light and stable .

Both are capable mid range detectors. Personally I would go for the 705. Lots more you tube vids and possibly hold its value better. Bigger choice of coils / frequencies than the Nokta.

I have been using a Xterra 705 since 2010 and still to this day feel it is one of the most under rated machines ever produced, cannot comment on the Nokta as I have never used one but I will say $400 for a used 705 rite now seems a little high as you can purchase one new for just a few $$$ more and then you would have a warranty on it I absolutely love the 705 and have never in the numerous years I have used mine felt the need to up grade to something others perceive as an up grade the key is what ever machine you do chose take the time and really learn the capabilities of the machine you chose
