F9CAEF3E-37FC-4FA8-97B6-9C4BD560A295.jpeg when I did the mode on this shovel I took a face shield off grinding hood & placed it on shovel head then used a heat gun to form it.Then marked off my lines on what was now my template. However after having done that, I set the template aside and free handed the cuts.To make the plugs smaller I placed the now moded shovel in the vice, put a little squeeze to it added acetylene heating (cutting torch) did some quenching and after the prep & paint I’m now waiting for a day of beep& dig. 8677775E-903F-4803-9376-35D9068A4250.jpeg

This is the same size shovel I used for the mode View attachment 1674603 the length of the shovel head is 8” the width is 6” after rolling in the width is now 5 1/4”
Edited for some added info the 5 1/4” is from outside to outside on the foot tang. The width of the shovel head is now 3 1/4” . Unless a guy just can’t pin point that should be nice enough size plug just over 10” circumference

I opted to just modify my bank account and got a serrated Lesche Sampson t-handle :laughing7:

(Of course, I'm about as handy as a pirate with two hooks and an itchy rear end....)
