Metal Detecting Dublin area Howth and Wicklow Mountains - Ireland

Dear fellow treasure hunters,
do you have any info on detecting the area around Dublin, Howth Island, Wicklow Mountains?
We're going there for a 4 day beer and music trip in February. If there is an interesting area I could probably rent a car for a day and take my Nox 800 for a hunt All help and suggestions are highly appreciated.

I found some info on the net that metal detecting in Ireland is somewhat illegal. I'm not taking a chance...I'll stick to the beer.
