Which battery to choose...?

I am an Omega 8000 user and want to switch over to a rechargeable 9 volt.
It seems pretty straight forward to me but as I read more and more on here, I am discovering that some batteries are a little a larger or smaller than a standard Duracell or Energizer. Also, some people are having trouble with the 8.2 volt rating of the NiMH batteries. Does/has anyone specifically went with a rechargeable battery in an Omega and if so, what worked or didn’t work well? Any recommendations or information would be welcome and appreciated.
