I found this today at the beach I need help dating it, I tried Google and couldn't find any info on it.

Hi Joe.
I like to use this website to try to identify shotgun shell head stamps: Shotgun

Based on that page the "V.L&D" = Von Lengerke & Detmold.

With that lead I bet you can figure out age (I didn't look any further) - enjoy the search!
