The answer is no. Gold does not give off a "halo" like iron and brass will.

That's what I'm doing, asking a question to get an answer. Isn't that seeking an education? Lol, what a jerk...

Metal detectors of this type are nearly worthless for deep targets. So I don't really focus on them that much at all. Anyway thanks for the reply. I can see it made you feel better about yourself so I'm all for it.

Why dont you just use your LRL. that thing should pic up a gnats ass of gold at 5 miles.
