i dont think people believe me when i tell them.i just put my coins in my washer machine,i leave them in there for a month or so.it works great and they cant go any where,but i do like to build things they you did.

I made one using a drill as well, had trouble regulating the speed then built one using an old printer, much better but ended up buying one from Harbor Freight, works great.

I been using V-8 Splash bottles & hand tumbling them
when I can find time to block out 3 or 4 hours, which is seldom,
but, every now & then, they'll be a movie or something on,
that I bother to take the time.

I use crème of tarter to clean them (no baking soda or vinegar,
as that will cause gases, explode the container...)
I do sometimes soak them overnight in vinegar.
With CoT, you got to be sure you have no copper in your silver coins,
as the penny will turn them a copperish color, too, & you'll have to retumble them.

Wow, nice set up, it's amazing what one can do with their own ingenuity.

Tumblers are relatively cheap I got my single tumbler at harbor Freight for $39 back in 2014 and have used the heck out of it. My son bought me a double tumbler last summer for $20 at a thrift store, still in the box, hardly used. I keep this one around so when my original takes a crap I an still good to go. Back in 2014 and 15 I detected so much that I tumbled twice a week, now I'm lucky if I have enough clad to tumble once a month.

I hunt almost every day. I have tons of dirty clad, not literally, but a lot. I have had problems regulating the speed as well, changed to a better drill I have. Will probably end up buying one.
Thought about removing the drill motor and installing a variable dial switch for better voltage regulation. Part of it is the challenge to make it work. I appreciate the suggestions and will try them out.
I used liquid detergent and water.

That's funny but I'm sure it would do the job I use salt and lemon juice works great pennies separate I love that washing machine idea lol

a block of wood with a notch and a g clamp should give you good throttle control. or a zip tie around the trigger... but at lower speeds the built in fan on the drill may not be effective. battery drills are much slower rpm
