Before the wife and I settled on a permanent camp ground we moved around a lot. Started with a tent when we were younger, worked our way up. Rarely failed Monday threw Friday morning the campground is fairly emptied out. Great hunting around. Especially the tent sites, playgrounds. Any grass parking areas. Generally lots of change, get lucky with a Silver ring, or even gold.
Go out early or near dusk. More peaceful.

My experience with the local state park camp grounds is that there are more pull tabs than coins at the camp sites. Good luck....
