I'll give you a spot to search. At the SEC of 22 and 83 there once was a popular fruit stand. Direct access was from 22; parking was in front of the stand. The stand existed from at least when I moved there in 1950 until I moved over to Barrington in '55. Somewhere in the intervening years, the fruit stand was taken down--but never has anything replaced that improvement; it's vacant land. I can only drool when i think of the number of silver coins that were lost in that area. If you go there, I suggest you first inquire at the Long Grove Historical Society regarding viewing aerial pics of that area. You might get lucky and find an aerial that shows the exact location of where that stand once stood.
