I just wanted to post the Association of Detectorists in the UK. They run Continuing Education at Oxford on "Metal Detecting For Archaeological Projects: An Introduction". They work to conserve Portable National Heritage and the Portable Antiquities Scheme. It is directed by the Director Keith Westcott- who found a very famous Roman Villa-and may be the largest villa in the UK. They have recently received funding to continue their work.

The AoD is considered a threat to a hobby that been enjoyed by manny for the last almost fifty years there are individuals who manage and run it who have publicly stated that restrictions on our hobby are needed this organisation has well known agenda and believed links to other anti metal detecting Heritage organisations .
