Was out the other day at a local park. This summer I’m switching it up between parks and beaches. One week to the parks with the AT Pro, the next wk to the beaches with the Xp Orx. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1596052077.305679.jpg Anyway, I was searching up and down the field part of the park with the AT Pro 5x8 coil, digging every pull tab signal I got until it happened, another pull tab signal..60/61 on the AT, not far down turned over the plug and boom shinning in the sun 10k band 3g. I was there about 3 hrs and dug about 30-40 pull tabs till it paid off.

Yeah I get pull tabs all over the scale. Some are 55’s some 51’s, 65’s and 60’s 61’s. 51’s can be either nickel or pull tab.

Sometimes I wonder how much gold I’ve walked past ignoring pull tab signals, every now and again I’ll dig one just in case [emoji38]
30 to 40 pull tabs, not bad, and congratulations on your find!!!!

I’ve learned to love digging pull tabs because the next one will eventually be gold. I dig every one I hit.

...plus with gold prices the way they are, If you hit one decent gold ring you’re making $30-$50/hr digging pull tabs. Lol.

Kudos to you on the ring! Not sure my back would have withstood digging up 30-40 pull tabs...

You know.....that's what I was thinking !! If you can pick up an ounce a week you would be doing pretty good !!

You’d have to be hitting it pretty hard everyday.
Ya and it never last long with the changing conditions and weather. You would quickly strip your spots of finds pounding them that hard. Guess I'll stick to my day job and be happy with the gold when it comes !!

Sheessshhh, you make it sound too much like a job! :laughing7: If I could find a gold ring every 40 pull tabs, I'd rarely come home! The ratio in our parks is closer to 500-1. Way too much work in my old body. I'm much more likely to get gold at the beach, with a lot easier recovery method. I'll let the younger guys toil away in the park.

Yeah I hear yeah. Lol. I got lucky on that ratio. Usually I dig more than that for one gold ring. At 48 I’m still in great shape to dig in the park for 4 to 5 hrs though. Plus I use knee pads, I don’t bend over and dig like some guys do, I get on the knees and my back is never sore. Muscles in the legs a bit sore the next day but no pain no gain lol. The beaches have been slim pickings in my neck of the woods so I’m hitting the parks to make up for it, Lol.

My back is still doing fine, but, at '67 the legs aren't what they used to be. It's the ups and downs that kill me after a while.

Yeah lol, the legs get worn out quick bending up and down. Sounds like you’re in good shape if you’re hitting the beaches.

Beaches are easy, just scoop and go. No bending or squatting involved with a good long handled scoop. Walking for miles in dry sand can get to the legs though too! Now, out in the surf is a different story. That can beat me up in no time these days.

I've not been out at all this year thus far, especially because of the heat right now. Well, if I can't dig or scoop anymore, maybe I can entertain myself here with all the good finds made!
