So it came UPS today about 4PM.

At 6pm I put it together and went out in the back yard. The house my GF owns was built in 1957 here in Austin, TX and I had not detected it yet.

In 3 hours I found

a 10 gram 14K gold ring :hello2:
14 quarters
8 dimes
5 nickels
20 pennies
2 wheaties
1 silver llama charm
2 buttons
and NOT TOO MUCH TRASH:laughing7:

I have not even scratched the surface yet.

Congrats on your new machine. Wow,, nearly six bucks and a 14k gold ring on your first test run!! Is that real ice in it? At 14k I would think so.

I was hoping for some silver coins but no. Three of those quarters are 1965... so close.

I'm guessing both... The backyard is loaded with metal. If I turn on all metal with no disc the freakin thing will beep every 4 inches. One normal swipe could easily produce a dozen hits. The house has been here for 63 years, that's lots of time for people to drop stuff in a yard that has prob never been metal detected. If I would have tried to MD that yard with the Bounty Hunter it would have been a nightmare and I would have never been able to pinpoint anything in that mess. I think I dug a very low level of junk compared to prize and that is because of the Detector.

2nd hunt in the same general area... not as productive. Lots more trash this time cuz I was hitting more stuff with iffy signals.

BUT, I did find 2 silver dimes, 3 wheats, and a 1957 Pakistani Pice with a hole drilled in it. The house was built in 1957.

Found a stupid copper plug pretty much the same size and weight as a silver dollar... got excited for a second for nothing.

You are really doing well! I really like the Austin area. My niece went to school there and we love the area!

Awesome finds. I just got a AT Max earlier this week. My birthday, anniversary and Christmas all come in December, so I asked my wife to combine all 3 and give me the ATMax a bit earlier, lol. I haven’t had a chance to get out with it yet. I’ve been using a Tesoro Vaquero which is an analog detector with no visual digital readout screen, just a box that makes sounds. It’s an awesome detector, I really like it, but I also wanted to get a digital machine with a screen to read, just to have one of both worlds, analog and digital, to compare and see what I like better. Keep us updated with your future finds.
