The old Florida plantation just keeps giving. Three more short duration outings. Three more coin finds.

I wonder what the the person was thinking making the pie shaped marks on the dime?

The Indian Head Cent, and the 1899 Barber Dime were found only about 25' apart in the woods.

You certainly found a wide variety of stuff there. The Indian head cent and mercury dime are nice but boy someone sure butchered that Barber up. The Imperial Make button I believe came off old bib overalls, the Engineers disc thingy I believe is the wheel on the end of the wick adjuster shaft for an oil lamp.

You certainly were busy digging. There's got to be more there judging by that.

Yes, ArfieBoy. Since I have read many times what collectors frequently state, most coinage dug up metal detecting isn't "collectible" (unless ultra rare). So I look up the coin, and end up cleaning them up, as I have not recovered any of those rare coins yet. They all then go into holders and into my personal coin finds book. It's funny. The 1945 mercury this time, I did not even really clean up as much as I usually do, as the features were pretty sharp.
