Yellow metal inside black rock

Found non magnetic metal(?), invariably, within black stones. Inside (when split) they look grey or silvery. Outside, probably because exposed to air, they look yellow. Here are some pics; IMG_20210307_135437.jpg , Close up view_094151.jpg , IMG_20191231_115056.jpg

Minor point, very minor..it is magnetic, in cases, just not with a "regular" magnet normally. I bought a reeeeeeally powerful magnet a few years ago for magnet fishing and naturally crossed interests and have detected the magnetic field of many things I never really thought of as
magnetic (even what were previously "non-magnetic" hematite specimens. Love the color (likely more iron/sulfides) in the sample provided, plus it's shape...seriously a good specimen!


Iron pyrite isn't magnetic. Here's a crystal cluster of pyrite.
