Maybe what was a silver plated pendent? Just saying pendant because of the placing of the holes.

First thought would be the end off a hair pin/barrette, or a book marker.
The centre pin/stick broken off.

Hard to tell from the photo, but is it flat or slightly curved?
If flat, maybe its a piece of decoration from a box or chest normally held on by two small brad type nails.
If slightly curved, my guess is maybe a hair pin/barrette of some sort.
No matter what, it's a nice find! :thumbsup:

sure looks like a suspender clip to me....with the locking mechanism missing.
