Hello,
I'm new to detecting and would like to adventure out of local parks to look for gold in the hills. The Little San Domingo Wash is within driving distance from my home - I have only few hours to devote to detecting each month. The Little San Domingo wash is miles long so I hope I'm not committing a sin by asking for some practical orienting. Where is a fair place to begin looking?

Thank You

Not sure of your question is the part of Little San Domingo Wash on private or BLM land, BLM go for it unless it is on a claim, private ask permission.Parks,
I believe in Phoenix like most places you need a permit(free) MDHTALK - Arizona Metal Detecting Law & Regulations.

if you are looking to prospect the best place to start is with a club, for you living in the Phoenix area I suggest the West Valley GPAA chapter. Kevin Hogan is the pres. and full of information.
