Re: Older White's?

I have a Silver Eagle from 1982 that I plan to be buried with. Might be missing some stuff when I use it, but man, does it love coppers

My first real detector was an IDX PRO. Passed it on to another hunter a few months ago. It was terrific! you just can't go wrong with a White's machine.

Had a 6000DI pro I absolutely loved, found good, old deep stuff...was pretty easy to learn and use. You can still pick em up on ebay for around 400 or so.

Re: Older White's?

I have a White's classic 800 pro! I love it! I will post this years finds (w/pics) later this week. This year I have found 9 gold rings, 30 silver rings, 13 misc. silver/gold jewlery. I have not counted my clad, but it is coffee cans full! I saw one on ebay for $200.00 It's not super fancy. Turn it on, and start hunting. It does have an id display. It's a great starter machine. I think finding targets/tickets has a LOT to do with strategy. I have out hunted many, many md'ers with $1000 machines because the machine is so complicated they miss stuff. Now, if I am hunting with someone who knows how to use their machine AND they have great techniques, they will find the deeper targets than my machine. But the fact is: Most my targets are 5 inches and up. happy hunting.

Re: Older White's?

6000 Di Pro SL remains my bread & butter machine...Possibly because I believe in it & it's relatively simple to operate. Hard to teach this old dog new tricks!

Cheers,
