That is a pretty "broad" grouping. Like, since when do nails (assuming they're fully iron) and nickels get put in the same category? They are far apart on the TID scale.

This Bounty Hunter has only 3 I.D. tones, low, mid and high. I personally like it better than the tone I.D. on my DFX. With the BH, when I hear a high tone I know it's a copper penny, dime, quarter or silver and don't pay much attention to the visual I.D. When I hear a mid tone I usually ignore it, moslty screw caps or zinc cents. But when I hear that low tone, I perk up. One quick glance at the visual I.D. and I know if it's foil, nickel or pull tab, or a nail if I've set the disc that low. With the DFX, it sounds like a pinball game, 191 tones is too much.

Here's one with a little more detail. (NOTE: these are not VDI/TID readings so it applies to any detector).

Don't I wish coins were the only thing that gave high tones. ::)
