Is there a site where i can type in most of an address and i might find the phone number? I found this newer house, with a much older house on the property.....not a big property by any means either =
If you go to the property appraisers site it will give you the name off the owner and I think that would be an easier way to possibly get a phone number

A phone call won't do, you need to meet them face to face, shake thier hand and introduce yourself. It's way to easy to say no over the phone or get hung up on.

Look at it this way, the worst he or she can do is say no.

It is illegal to kill and eat you. LOL

Buttrflies are common. Take a deep breath and ring the bell. Step back a few paces from the door and when the door opens introduce your self and state your business. Have your business card ready to hand them. You know the one that has your name, address, telephone numbe, email address and states that your are a Finer of Lost Items.

Hand them the card when they answer the door and point out that you live locally and would like to metal detect their yard. THEN, if they say no, ask them to call you if they should change their mind.

Cards are a good way to show the homeowner that you are up front and not trying to scam them. They have your name, address and telephone number, so why would you give them that information if you were going to do something dishonest? It is a good ice breaker and shows that you have good intentions. As I said, the worst they can do is say no.

You can print business cards on your computer or you can get them printed for a reasonable price. See links:
