I found a spot in my own yard ( I have a fairly large yard) that is cut in to a tree line on the banks of a pretty good sized river, where I have found about 15 to 20 square nails and part of what I believe is an old skeleton key. I have several more iron signals to dig the area is about 50 feet by 50 feet. I have been detecting for about 10 years and this seams like a small iron patch to me. I know the area used to be farm land but the only home site I knew of is about a 1/4 mile away. The only coin I have found in this area is a clad penny Date 1969. What do y'all think is possable that I have had a structure of some sort here or just a place some farmer dumped some nails.

The water has only been close to this sight since 1968 when there was a dam built on the river before that the river channel would have been about 75 yards away from this area

Also I have found many stone tools and spear points in and around this area.
