The fair in my county has a category of logging items so I put this display together of iron that I had found out in the woods. I took first place in this category but in an other display of items which included a broad axe, a bark spud and a peavey, my daughter took first place over me and two other entrants with her great grandfathers adz

Pretty cool..

Did you get any new leads from anyone for more places to detect? What an opportunity that would be to further our hobby.

No, I didn't get any new leads. In my travels out in the woods digging up lumber camps I occasionally meet modern day loggers and they have never mentioned any areas for me to dig. The judge of the exhibits suggested that I should have ID'd the items so people would know what they were.
