    My ACE-250 night light MOD

Here’s my version of a night light on my ACE-250
I don’t use a light a lot so I didn’t want to make any permanent changes to my machine, but I did
want to be able to slap a light on it when I needed it.

So I went to Borders Books and I bought a book light. specifically I got the
“Spike light” for $12.99 (light Mod 1.jpg) because it has a small battery holder that is round holding 1 AAA battery,
Then I went to Home Depot and picked up a ¾”X6” PVC Nipple for $ .86 (light Mod 2.jpg) it was in the
section of pipe for underground sprinkler systems.

Now when I need a light I simply grab the pipe and light out of my detector bag with a roll of duct tape.
I put a mark on the pipe about 1 ½” from one end so I can let it hang out that much from the top of the shaft.
(I found I needed the pipe to get the light back under the detector housing farther then I could tape it.
Also this way I can leave the pipe attached and only use the light when I need it)

The battery holder of the light is round and tapered and fits into the pipe tight

Put the pipe against the top of the middle detector shaft and tape it down
Don’t cover the top set of holes. (light Mod 3.jpg)

Put the top section of the detector together and put the light in the pipe
Make sure you push it in hard enough to keep it snug in the pipe

Bend the light to wrap around the housing and aim it at the screen and keep out of way or your fingers
    (light Mod 4.jpg)
    (light Mod 5.jpg)

The light is nice and bright, and I love that it uses 1 AAA battery and is supposed
    to run 20 hours.

For now I have just been duct taping it together but I’m kicking around mounting the pipe
Permanently with some JB Weld but it’s your choice what you do with yours.
    Happy Hunting
