I was at my parents old home site going through some old boxes and found a box of plumbing supplies. It had a 1"1/2 pee trap set in it. I took and brought it home as i figured it would do what i wanted for my pin pointer holster. Its not pretty yet but i got a can of .96 cent black paint at wal mart. I havent painted it yet as its storming here and has been all day. But i plan on getting it painted this week. Heres some pictures of it and my xpointer fits snug and awesome in it. Cant wait to give it a test run. Hope yall like! The best part is it only have .96 cents in it. I made a notch in it also with a grinding stone to keep it from wanting to twist on the shaft. My finger pointing is the part i used.

I like modified (improved) detecting stuff,
and this idea is for faster deployment and stowage of the probe,
and makes for a more productive hunter! :icon_thumright:

Well any thing added to my detector feels heavy .. So i add nothing to it … That pin pointer Garrett Pro weights 7oz with battery ……And the holder weights about 2 oz's that is 9 oz's …. put that any were on you detector rod in front of the control box and it does make a difference … Well to me it does so my pin pointer went back on my belt...

Nice thinking on the mount. It doesn't seem like there are very many options out there. This is what I did with mine. I have more weight on mine, but it's all on the back end. It really sits ok for balance with the DD coil on it.

The belt loop fits perfect on my armrest. It works great on my fisher f70 but not on my Bounty Hunter.

I found that adding a 2 pound lead bar under the battery pack on the Etrac, that it counter balances the machine, and makes it nicer on your arm and back. Just zip tie it in place...... NGE
