WATERPROOF uMax??
Has anyone here modded a uMax Tesoro to wader configuration by waterproofing it? I would like to do this to a Golden...
You'll get it all. Or you won't
Someone else will get it. Or they won't
Someday, you'll die and leave it behind.
Act accordingly.

Re: WATERPROOF uMax??
Dahut,
I'm working on a universal waterproof system for most detectors. I'm right in the middle of it now. I will post the mod here and on f-i-n-d-s Maybe a couple of weeks away.

Kenny the King!
I have seen plenty of ways to do it, to about everything other detector, but not the Tesoros. My biggest problem seems to be finding a box that will fit it, but not swallow it whole for being too big.
I have already solved the waterproof entries into the box.

Re: WATERPROOF uMax??
look for my old post in the beach shallow water forum.no knob use though.another thought
I had was to take an extension cable, waterproof the connection with layers of electrical tape and silicone, and mount the box on my shoulder so it looks like the predator,s shoulder
mounted laser cannon.

Re: WATERPROOF uMax??
I restored my silver uMAX to it's former glory.the pvc was heavy and I rarely go wading.the
waterproof extension cable in hindsight is the better route.here are some former dessicrated uMAX pics(I had to delicatly work the sawsall to get that off).
