I've had the same sand scoop for 3 yrs now and it works well, however, it is all aluminum and will get your hands and cloths (specifically your shoulders and shirt) coated with aluminum dust/stain. It will rub off onto your hands, shoulder and shirt. It is difficult to remove and will ruin your shirt. I put waterproof duck tape on the long handle to eliminate the problem. In retrospect, I think a paint that adheres to aluminum would be a better option. Also, consider gluing a magnet to the bottom to catch small ferrous metal such as pins, paper clips and hair clips.
Also, the screw that holds the 2 parts of the handle together will periodically loosen and need tightening over time. Put a lock washer on it or tape the screw so that it will not loosen over time. Lose the screw and you're, well, screwed.

    Thanks Lawrence!

I do plan on getting a rare earth magnet out of an old computer hard drive and zip tieing it to the bottom, and I'll be looking out for the aluminum rubbing off!!

    Thanks
