Hey, WHY NOT? Get a few people together and dump several tubs of rocks on the doorstep of the BLM office 3 or 4 times a week. The BLM'ers would HAVE to check each one, wouldn't they? Wonder how long it'd take for them to get the idea?

Sorry Cappy, it's not the state of Arizona that is trying to claim them, it is the Federal Government.....AKA the same elected thieves in Washington, who work maybe 2 days a week, eligible for full pension and insurance after 5 years. They are eligible to begin drawing their pension at age 50 if they have 20 years service, or are eligible at any age after completing 25 years of service or after they reach the age of 62.

It's actually only one (just one) BLM website. The one for Washington/Oregon. And the poor simple boob that wrote the paragraph on collecting meteorites, put himself, and his employers way out on a legal limb using "an interpretation of The 1906 Antiquities Act". If you actually read the act, it only applies to man-made, historical, archeological, or paleontological items. Some years ago in Arizona, two indian burial sites were found to have meteorites, along with other typical possessions like pottery, arrowheads, etc. This shows that meteorites were personally important to TWO (2) particular indians, making THOSE TWO meteorites only, into cultural items. It does not magically, turn the other bizzillion meteorites in Arizona that were not buried with dead indians, into antiquities. The Eco-nazi that wrote that paragraph is merely inserting HIS interpretation with the hopes of scaring off collectors. Question: if two hard-core bikers die, and are buried with their Harley's, does that then make ALL MOTORCYCLES into religious, cultural, and if buried, paleontological items that the Government can no longer tax or license? I know the answer, and so do you. And so do the courts. And when the courts get hold of this one person's interpretation, that person's employment and finances will be"interpreted".

You can't do that either, read further on in the article "Please remember not to leave any modern day artifacts or human remains of your own (haul out your trash from remote areas), take only photographs and leave only footprints on designated paths."

Hell, you'd be breaking their laws if you went out there an put a gun to your head and blew your own brains out!
