$20 or new truck

This rock has sat on my desk for years, & every day I wonder if this thing could represent a new truck or a steak dinner, I was offered $20.00 for it from a friend that has skinned me on every trade we have entered. I have found S R from Gold Basin & seen Iron S R. & this thing doesn't resemble those.It has a dull finish over all but where I filed it looks like iron, image 2 shows where I filed it. a magnet will stick to it. I think I found it at Rye Patch NV.

No fusion crust present. Many vesicles present generally means not a meteorite. You might try going down this list of meteorwrongs and see how your rock does on it.

ya, i'd have to go with "it doesn't look like a meteorite". maybe a slag? never knew so many different types of slag existed, been getting a lot in the museum lately. been getting a lot more not meteorites in the last year. my hit rate of 1 in 100 is going way down. best wishes, don http://www.kansasmeteorite.com
