Come out from under your bed today...... DO SOMETHING!
Firetab. I live east of Sac but I would go to a known strewn field, such as the one in Gold Basin, AZ to look. I keep an RV in AZ so I am back and forth all the time. I know of no known strewn field near Sac. TTC

Hey Rookie, I's lookin at a map of yer area, no matter where you go, any known strewn fields are at least a day's drive for ya and would warrant a 2-3 night's camping trip. And Gold Basin is 99% staked gold claims, if yer not a member of a club or don't have a claim there, you might get acused of claim jumpin and nobody wants a gun pulled on em in the middle of nowhere! Because you have NO known strewn fields near ya, the next best place to hunt, would be a dry lake bed, but stay away from national park or natl. rec areas (it's illegal to pluck material from the ground in natl. parks). The nearest dry lake thats a known producer of meteorites thats also just state land is stuart valley on the CA./NV. state line just west of Pahrump,NV. And you wont even need an MD, just an earth magnet on a stick and lottsa water fer drinkin. But ANY state land-dry lake will do and is good bet. Good luck man!

Yes, Rockhunter. I should've mentioned I am an LDMA member so I can hunt those areas (Bahde claims). Tnx. TTC

While I am a member of two clubs that have staked claims, they do not cover meteorites.
If you leave the gold, act responsable there isn't an issue at Gold Basin.
People are very friendly there.
When it cools off, I would be more then glad to show anybody around.
