    is this a shergottite? (mars meteorite?)

    purchased off internet for $8.50 new zealand dollars. 11 grams. NWA meteorite (northwest africa)
    it looks like a basaltic shergottite but i am not sure. help would be appreciated.Click image for larger version.

    Well it looks like a chondrite or unclassified specimen. Those martian specimens at 11 grams would be quite a bit more in price than what you paid. Did any other information come with it?

    If it is a Mars meteorite that size, it would have sold for THOUSANDS. You can probably cross Mars off as a possible source. TTC
    Tomorrow will arrive at 12:01 AM clean and pure, without blemish. How it leaves at 11:59 PM is up to you and I.

    The last time I read anything about Mars Meteorites The cost was at $1000 per gram! Super, Super, Super Rare!!!
