I found this object at the beach about two months ago. Since then and I have gone back and fourth with what it is. Is it a piece of slag or could in fact be a meteorite. My metal detector rings when I pass over it.

Weight: 220 g

Specific gravity: roughly 8.7-8.8 (nickel?)

I do not have a rare earth magnet, but regular house magnets are not attracted. I really need to get one.
**got a n52 earth magnet and doing the string test with it shows an attraction. Not the strongest but will pull the magnet. **

Streak test: shows a black streak that after a few passes fades and revealed the Shiny metal seen in the one photo. (black streak but not magnetite?)

I Know with out further testing it is impossible to determine based on photos but just looking for initial thoughts before I reach out for an expert. Don't want to waste
anyone's time.

It has some interesting properties. The almost flat bottom throws me off but it has possible flow lines? Part of it has a shiny black hue, possible fusion crust? What does not show up in pictures are small glimmering pin points that shine in the right light.

To me it looks like something that was poured into a shallow form (sand, dirt) and the flat is actually the top. The lines or runs actually have a name, forgotten now. Just my 2 cents.
