Earth's nickel brought by meteorites

I watched a VOD last night about meteorites. The pic here is the impact crater at Sudbury, Canada. It produces 30% of the earth's nickel! The video went on to say that it is believed that ALL of the earth's nickel was brought by meteorites. Any comments? TTC

I found the plant connection quite interesting...

Isn't Earth's core believed to be the same as meteorites, iron & nickel?

I find it interesting that earth rock have little nickel iron but the rest of the universe seems to have mostly nickel iron. Has the earth been made differently than the rest of the universe?

Earth has a very active crust. Plate tectonics assures us that every few million years earth will "recycle" the inside AND crust of our planet. In its formative years, earth was molten, allowing the heavier (iron/nickel/gold etc) minerals to "sink" to its core. Volcanism redistributes those heavier things back to the surface. Your "earth made differently than the rest of the universe" statement only reflects the state of our scientific knowledge of the universe. Not much. As we learn how to identify and "decode" more exoplanets, we will find some that are more like earth, having active crusts. I am not a scientist but hope I have answered your question(s). TTC
