Meteorite used as a stone tool?

With these better pictures, I'm hoping someone can help me identify this rock or meteorite. It attracts a magnet all over. It was found in the mountains of Vermont near Stowe. At first glance some people will just say "river rock", BUT I truly believe otherwise.
1: the top arch fits in the palm perfectly
2: there are perfectly dented finger placements
3: the bottom is perfectly flat, but the strange part is that it has a cross like figure at the bottom that seems to run through the entire rock (fusion crust? )
4: Its magnetic

Sorry, no signs of being worked by man and no signs of being used as hammer stone either, just a weathered rock.

could it be a meteorite maybe? Its magnetic. if not, do you know what type of rock it is?
