I found this small black rock on the side of the road.
Could this rock be a meteorite?

It very well could be, but there are several tests that a stone
has to undergo before it can be declared a true meteorite.

You're keeping your eyes open and looking, and that's what's

it looks to be a petrified raisin to me ? did ya test it with a magnet yet ?

It's many differences between surfaces which says that is not meteorite. Looks like kind of volcanic rock. Could you tell more about physic properties?
