Is it or isn't it?

My buddy found this here rock and it displays many of the characteristics of a meteorite. It is only very slightly magnetic, very heavy for it's size, and appears to have fusion crust. How else would I go about identification?

The item shown has no visible characteristics of meteorites. It is heavily river worn, so those characteristics may be completely gone. My opinion based on the images is the crust is an oxidation crust, not a fusion crust. You are, of course, free to take it to a qualified professional for evaluation.

It's most likely hematite, a form of iron ore.
