Not a meteorite. Please pick up a few guidebooks on meteorites. I find mine very helpful.

Time for more coffee.

I used a cheap speaker magnet the grey you see is the inside of the stone I filed a corner to get under the red ant that was the result as for the magnet it had attraction around the whole thing I broke a piece of the red crust that also stuck to the magnet I’ll have a post of the crater tomorrow image.jpg I also found this near by with the same magnetic results that stones weight is 32lbs

I also had a pretty knowledgeable friend take look at it and he said he thinks is a really old meteorite

The pits in the surface are a dead giveaway as is the angle of the break, this is not a meteorite, probably a lava bomb

The rock shown in post #6 appears to be basalt, and has no visible characteristics of meteorites.

Time for more coffee.

Thinking about it for a few minutes, and I believe Alan could also be correct. While most lava bombs I have found are a red lava, my neighbor has a few that are gray and one that is black. So it is, based on images, a basaltic lava bomb.

Still not a meteorite.

Still time for more coffee.

Thank you I saw a clip on YouTube where they said that stones from mars have a grayish basalt under the red similar to terrestrial basalts is that true?
