I am stumped on what this could be... My father brought it home for my daughter from work in Alberta, Canada.. It is magnetic on one side (The side that looks like regular rock). very shiny almost looks like fossilized wood. But one side looks like rock, one side has metallic looking black speckles. Everything is different! Would very much appreciate any information on what this could be!

Very confusing when folks post the same item in three different places... and this is obviously not a meteorite! As per the reply on your other threads it seems to be 'tiger eye' and the reason it's magnetic in parts will be because it frequently occurs with iron minerals and/or contains inclusions of iron minerals... notably magnetite.
