Got the E-trac today

well i just opened the box for the trac that showed up, i must say i am severely impressed with the build on this machine, it is solid as a rock and not one thing looks like it was done cheap to save a buck, I hope this works as well as it looks and as well is iv'e heard

its too early to post a review but as soon as myself and ian get some time on this machine we'll throw up an honest review in comparison to all the detectors we been using

Got my hands on the Etrac today - dan gave me a demonstration. Pretty dang impressive. It's going to be a deep digging summer I think. I just picked up an SE myself. Neither of us have used a Minelab before now.

I looked up the E-track today ... all i can say is wow that thing looks like its from nasa or something, what a nice looking machine.. i guess you have a lot to learn with it.. hey im wondering is the manuel a dictionary

okay, i had the unit out for about an hour and since the ground is kind of frozen i was real picky on what signal i was going to chip thru the ice for, i did dig 2 holes one was a nail which was rocking right on the edge of the discrim pattern but i had to dig it just to see what it was about 1" long square nail at 13" not a guessed 13" i dug little bits at a time till i hit with my pinpointer and actually measured to the level ground
I also a dug a small brass rivet looking pants button about 3/8 of an inch diameter at 10" i know its junk but i was impressed so far that the detector depth indicator was so close
Ill keep you posted when the good stuff starts coming up, i did have quite a few real nice locks on targets that were deep but the ice was just too damn thick to get through

well the machine is simply awesum

I dug a pocket watch and 2 other pocket watch lids all of them were well over 12-14 inches deep
i know those are large targets but ive dug quite a few pices of copper and similar items at the same depth the last few days

Hey Dan,

I just traded off the X-terra for a Explorer SE with the 11" pro coil. I should have my new toy by Tuesday next week. I know there is going to be a big learning curve but hopefully I'll be ready for your spring hunt.

well the repeatability on the numbers is superb even on the trash it gives the same numbers every single sweep, I still dig every half ass solid signal but it sure beats the hell out of sweeping 9 times and doing my own guesswork on whats really there i feel funny saying this

Having an ETRAC is kind of like cheating.......................
