Concrete in northern michigan

I know concrete is old.

But when do you think it was first brought to northern Michigan to be used at home sites?

Are there any characteristic that can help date a concrete thing?

I've found some sites I believe to be from around 1900/1905, and some possibly before that.

One site in particular, looks to be a well maybe, with a concrete lining smeared on the sides. This site is completely unknown to me at the moment. I cant find any clue yet what it was. 5 roads converge at the center of a square mile, and this is off in the woods.

Oldest concrete in the state is in Calumet on one of their streets. Before the turn of last century.

Really? Seems kinda odd, considering the age of the Detroit area.. That's another first for Calumet.

Can't disagree but, if memory serves me I think there's a sign there about it too?

Hm, now I'm curious. Funny though, I drove all the way to Calumet about a year ago, just to read a sign in the street. I could see me doin that again, lol.
