Hello from the u.p.!

I've spent some hours looking into lidar files, maybe it would be easier with a computer? So far i have yet to get anything working on my android device. The state website shows some areas which have been mapped already, most of the readers and info is so slow to load i give up after a few minutes and close out of the program, im not sure if the files are even correct, does 5mb sound like a proper file size for a whole county? 15mb? Has anyone found a good site or reader that works?

I found em too, and even with a PC, I never figured out how to see em. Eventually, I got tired of trying and gave up.

The file sizes I was seeing were hundreds of megabytes for small sections of a county.

You need a program like Erdas Imagine to open those types of files, even regular GIS software like ArcGIS can’t do it.
