Anyone have a tad of information about the value of a full set of B29 Bomber tools and test equipment? Will it be worth it to locate them? If found, can the government reclaim them after all these years of being abandoned? Surely they have been declassified? Can they be sold to those that are actually flying those planes today? They are seen at airshows all the time.

One B-29, named "Fifi", is currently registered as "airworthy", but it is presently grounded due to costly engine problems. In a joint press release, dated 21 January 2008, the Commemorative Air Force and the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, announced a pledge of $1.2M USD to re-engine Fifi.

One other B-29, named "Doc", was being restored to flying status, but work has halted as funding has ran out.

Another 23 confirmed B-29s are preserved at various museums worldwide, along with six partial airframes, three airframes in storage and known wreck sites of four more.

The Enola Gay is on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the National Air and Space Museum at Dulles International Airport, Virginia. Bockscar is preserved on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.

You may wish to contact the Commemorative Air Force (ex-Confederate Air Force) for suggestions.

The B-29 was the first aircraft I ever worked on.Does the tool set have a 'magic Wand'?It's for cold cylinder check. And I shouldn't tell you but the plug gaskets(copper),the size of a quarter, had a hole a penny would press into and in those days you could do that and put it in a coke machine(.05)and get your nickle coke and 20 cents change.
