Re: katana and usn sword
Those look far too nice to move for quick cash,...I would get myself to a specialty auctioneer (weapons and swords) and let them sell them. from the pictures they are high quality and in good condition. I'd make you an offer, but I'd feel guilty knowing you could probably get much more in a good specialty auction. I'll bet it would be worth the extra time and commission,...on the other hand, if you have to have the cash for your Krispy Kreeme habit right now,...lol...

Re: katana and usn sword
The WWII Katana were machine made, some of good steel. The old soul swords are national treasures, even if I could afford one, and find one for sale, it wouldn't be right to buy it, own it. Always been a problem - just because you have a pile of money doesn't mean it is your right to buy. Can't buy common sense, good sense or respect with money. Neh?

Re: katana and usn sword
TheJapanese sword you have is an NCO sword. The serial no. on the blade will match the one on top of the scabbard. The handle is aluminum. I have owned several of these, although, sometimes the serial no. does not match. I talked to my uncle, who flew B24s in the Pacific. At the end of the war, the Japanese surrendered their swords, My uncle said that at times the swords were seperate from the scabbards and they were told to get one to take back as sovenier, so that is the reason the serial nos. may not match.

One of those Katanas is a cheap knockoff Where is this cave? P.I. ? Sorry if this is a silly question. If this is supposed to be some sort of battlefield I don't know why a cerimonial Navy sword would be there.
