I found this Hitler statue in an old trunk of my grandfathers. He was an adjunct general in Germany at the end of WWII. I have to assume it is a period piece. It is hollow bronze and stands about 14 inches and is a little over six inches at the base.
Has anyone seen one of these and do you think it is worth anything? I have no Idea what to do with it, I would hate to chuck it if it is a piece of history. My wife hates it and dose not want it in the house. What do you think I should do with it?

While there are a ton of military collectors out there, I would contact a military museum for any interest.....Gary

Please tell your wife that it is no more than a statue depicting
a very, very bad human who is really, most sincerely dead.

IMO, it can best serve humanity today as a reminder of what can
easily happen (and usually does) when a government gains too much
power over the people.

It does seem to be a unique piece, and although I wouldn't list it on
eBay (they'd close the auction as it's not allowed there), selling
via private channels would be your best bet. First thing would be
to take it for an appraisal with someone specializing in WW II German
artifacts.

Interesting piece in that he is not in the familiar posture of the Nazi salute (arm straight out); rather, he's in the posture of his "Teutonic" wave.
Any markings on the base or elsewhere that might indicate the maker?
Don.....

As a war history buff that is a typical pose of him and been pictured many times that way. I can understand your wife's concern but it does carry value not just in monetary. I'm German, my grand father had to go back to where were from and fight against his own countrymen and proudly did so against those who would do such evil. I wouldn't throw this away just because of the evil man it depicts. Ppl don't know history well enough to know that during the first world war, Russia killed as many Jews of not more but did it differently and it wasn't broadcast everywhere, the Jews ran to Germany for safety in WWI that's why there were so many in WWII. History has very ugly moments.

Get your facts first, then distort them as you please-Mark Twain

Thank you all for the suggestions and the PMs. I have an appointment with the curator of our local war history museum next week. I shall let you know what he thinks of the statue,

Have you thought about donating it to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC? Perhaps they could give you a value so you could take the tax deduction if you itemize.

Good luck to all,
