A friend of mind has this sword. Some one gave it to him years ago. Has leather wrapped around handle, he said the handle guard was modified or cut off? The blade has a chip in it!
Anyone knowledgable of these sword?

Here you go: John Sexton - Civil War Catalog The inscription matches the first two sword but the handguard is a bit different. However, being that it was modified... My guess is Confederate cavalry officer's sword.

Its deffinately not cs cavalry need better pics this is a foot officer/staff officer style sword you can tell by the style the blade doesent have enough curve to be cavalry
