Det vi vet er så uendelig lite mot det som har hendt. Arkeologen er som den som går langs en strand og finner småtterier, skyllet i land fra et forsvunnet skib. Men selve skibet som gikk i dypet med menneskene får han aldri se.

Monty a Schmeiser was a sub-machine gun. Think of it as the german version of a .45 Thompson and you'll see the difference. This MP-40 is similar in function to our M-60 machine gun. The tripod is one clue and the size is another. One is run by one man and the other is crew served. siegfried schlagrule

Re: MP-40
MP40 was a subgun. Full name Maschinenpistole 40. 40 being it's year of adoption. Commonly called the "Schmeisser" by American GIs after a German weapons designer Hugo Schmeisser.
The MG42 (Maschinengewehr 42) is the belt fed crew served full machinegun which is similar in many ways to an American M60. It was a very scary gun due to the sound of it's extremely high rate of fire.
