I was out last weekend with my V3i on a Civil War battle site, near a house that has been occupied since before the Civil War.

I found a silver "U.S." insignia, a brass "Cura dat Victoriam" insignia, a small bell, brass lantern top, brass door pull, horse bit, 2 axe heads, an Enfield bullet and lots of iron
I need some help identifying the two insignia.

Thanks,
Three Ringer

Glad I didn't get it all at my old stomping grounds

The US insignia is WW2 or later, Just a short story as relayed to me by the former residents. Back in the 50's and 60's the owner/farmer of that house employed a poor family as farm workers, they often wore military surplus clothing which they purhcased cheap or received from the owner or other residents in the area who pitied them, I recall fidning several WW2 or vietnam era "modern"brass army buttons.

The US you have is, I'm pretty sure, collar brass.

The silver bell might have been off a prize farm animal

nice whatever they are.

keep it up.
